My crazy brain and me...

One of the greatest gifts my ADHD has given me is a voracious appetite for learning and experiencing new things. I have worked in a variety of industries, from hospitality to finance, and have always been drawn to creative pursuits. Here I'm sharing some of the wonder I've enjoyed over the years.

King Proteas are the national flower of South Africa, and they grow wild all along the south coast.

A Mozambique Adventure

Together with my ex-husband, I spent almost a month in Mozambique. This was a working holiday for a resort in a conservancy area, and by sinking old boat skeletons, we helped rebuild the coral reef.

Walk on the Wild Side

As part of a nature-filled honeymoon, Connor & I met (and took for a leash-walk) several cheetah cubs at the phenominal "Cheetah Experience" rescue centre when they were still in Bloemfontein.

A Dream Come True

While living in The Garden Route of South Africa, I was able to visit the Knysna Elephant Park and stroke this orphaned baby elephant. This was a dream come true for me, as African Elephants are my favourite animal.

A Reptilian Rescue

I spotted this intrepid traveller trying to cross a busy road, and stopped to help him. He was a little grumpy at first, but soon settled down and enjoyed the ride. He was released in our garden, with plenty of vegetation and access to water.

Treasure Hunting, Geek-style

Geocaching is an amazing way to get out and explore the world around you. I've found caches in the middle of the city, in the middle of nowhere, and even in a cliff face. It's a great way to explore new places, and see things you might not have otherwise.

‘Big Sky’ Therapy

One of the few things I miss about South Africa is the ‘Big Sky’ — this massive openess when you look across the veld. I'm so grateful to have found the same feeling in Scotland, and will be returning as soon as possible.
